Great fundraising ideas for today
Welcome to fundraising event ideas.
Thanks for visiting our suggestions for fundraising events -
we'd love to hear your ideas for additions to this list!
Here's some easy fundraiser events to start you off:-
Art auction - using student's artwork to create custom gifts that can
be sold or auctioned off. This can work for both elementary,
primary and secondary schools.
A more prestigious way of raising funds is online, via organisations
such as Art Auction who offer a discreet way to purchase framed
artwork of contemporary artists.
Get ideas of what would work for your fundraising event from local
supporters. A fundraising event such as this could also be
organised via eBay, which gives a sense of time pressure which
can drive bids up as individuals compete with one another.
Car boot or garage sale - now a tradition in the UK as well as the
US, selling items which are excess to your own requirements can
be a great fundraiser.
If you've got the ground or buildings, hosting one of these events in
exchange for a share of the profits could be a good money maker.
Christmas events - concerts, fashion shows, musicals and plays -
this is the season
Dinner dance/ball - this can be a high-ticket item, if organised well.
If you can get a great venue donated, much of the proceeds will be
able to be donated to your chosen charity or non-profit organisation.
Disco - great for kids and teenagers. If you've already got a venue,
the main cost is hiring in the disco.
Garden party - you may have to be English to appreciate this! The
Queens annual party is rather exclusive, so why not have your own
party and invite your friends. A marquee or tent of some kind is
obligatory, as are cocktail-style dresses for the ladies and suits for
the guys.
Jazz evening - ideal for those summer evenings, sitting in the
warmth of the evening sun, whilst listening to jazz and enjoying
drinks and chat with friends.
Karaoke evening - something for students and younger people
probably. An evening of fun, laughter and humiliation can result in
unexpected generosity.
Mufti or non-uniform day - a great way to raise a large sum of
money in less than 24 hours. Or you could get everyone at work to
wear one item of orange, or pink, or whatever...!
Plants, flowers & bulbs sale - for spring or summer, a sale of plants
can attract a good crowd of buyers and onlookers. Your group may
want to grow the plants themselves for maximum profit.
Sponsored events - these can be sane or outrageous. From a
sponsored sleepover, to a 24-hour famine, or something which
highlights you cause.
