Ideas for Running & Planning a Golf Fundraising event
Thinking of Using Golf Events for Fundraising ?
Having a golf event for a fundraiser is a very common way to have
a fundraiser. I always see celebrities having these types of fundraisers. There are several reasons why this works so well and I'm going to go into why it works so well and why
you should utilize this way of having a fundraiser.
The first reason why this is so effective is because everyone can
golf. My ten year old sister goes golfing and my eighty year old grandpa goes
golfing. This means that the whole family can do it and people love this because it is a way
to bond as a family. People can have different handicaps and be able to compete against other
people who have more of a skill level or you can just golf for fun and not compete against other people.
The second reason is that it is a way for people to have fun and
contribute to a good cause at the same time. It's is a total win-win situation. It's like having your cake and eating it too.
The third reason is that you can set it up to be an annual
event. A lot of times fundraisers are an ongoing process. We are probably always going to have problems like homelessness, disease etc. Things like that will probably always be there, so the need for ongoing fundraisers will be
there.
With an annual golf event you can not only get the avid golfer,
you will also get people who are casual golfers or even first time golfers who want to contribute. Also, with an annual event you can continue to grow the popularity of it. Every year it gets to be an event that people go to over and over again and contribute over and over
again. You can draw new people into it, year after year.
Now, the first thing that you have to do when you want to set up a golf event for fundraising purposes is come up with a
plan. You need to think about how big you want this thing to be. Usually you can use a whole weekend to raise money. You need
to think of a name for it and about ways that you're going to promote it. It certainly helps if
you have some money to help advertise. That way you can promote it in newspapers, the radio
etc.
The second thing that you need when you want to set up a golf event for a fundraiser is find a golf course to host the
event. You can contact the local golf courses and find out what works best for you and the
host golf course. It may take some time to get a set weekend for the event, so you should be
calling way ahead of time, in order to, book a date.
Once you get a date, it is time to start forming a plan on how it
will be done. You can think of different ways to help make it appeal to people. Sure, it is a good cause and that will be appealing to people, but there are extra ways to raise
money. You can do things like set up a food stand where you can sell food to people and raise
extra money that way. You can set up a stand where you sell tee shirts and shorts
etc. There are a lot of different things that you can do. You just have to clear it with the golf course.
Once you have your date set, the name of your event and a plan of
action for other activities, then it's all about getting the word out and promoting the event.
Like I said before, if you have some money to advertise, things will be much easier and you will reach a lot more people. One thing that you can do is print out ads and distribute them. You can get creative and get the word out there, any way that you can. Get some word of mouth advertising going and get the word out and have a wonderful fundraising
experience!
